Micah Bates is a lifelong West Virginian, an alumnus of Leadership Fayette County, and a graduate of Concord University where he earned a degree in Environmental Geosciences.

Currently a resident of Mount Hope, Micah works as an Environmental Technician for Appalachian Power Company. In his role, he oversees legacy coal fly ash landfills and wastewater ponds to maintain environmental safety and regulatory compliance.

Outside of work, Micah is an avid fly fisherman and nature photographer who loves spending his free time exploring the mountains and sharing his passion for the outdoors.
