Observer Information

A party is more than one persons surveying together. If your party divides into smaller groups surveying different areas within your designated area, then each smaller group becomes a party and each party logs their own hours and miles.

Time

Enter all of your start and stop times. Round time to the nearest quarter hour, using decimals. Example time: 15min. = .25, and 45 min. = .75

Enter the time(s) you began and ended observations. Multiple start/ stop times are separated by a comma.

Enter the Total Hours you observed, in decimal format. For example, four hours and forty-five minutes, enter: 4.75

Mileage

Round your mileage to the nearest quarter mile, using decimals. Example: ¼ mile = .25, and ¾ mile = .75.
Miles by Car: Check your odometer when you begin and again when you end. Calculate the miles driven. Don't count re-tracing your route.
Miles by Foot: Figure 1 mile per hour of walking maximum. Standing still or birding outside your car is considered walking with 0 miles. Don't count re-tracing your steps.
Total Miles: Miles driven plus miles walked by your party(s).

Weather

Record weather conditions you directly encountered during your observations. You may select more than one (1) condition.

Enter the minimum and maximum temperatures in Fahrenheit during your observations. Example: 37F / 52F.

Select any/all AM Weather Conditions. If you did Not observe in AM hours, select No AM Observations.

Select any/all PM Weather Conditions. If you did Not observe in PM hours, select No PM Observations.

Enter the maximum snow depth (Not drifts against something) in Inches during your observations. Examples: 24in, or type Dusting, or None.
