New River Jetboat Tours Take the tram into the Gorge and go to the dock; climb on board "Miss M. Rocks." Your captain will take you upstream on the World's second oldest river, to the New River Gorge Bridge towering 876 feet above you. The ride is 6 miles long and takes approximately 25 to 30 minutes.

New River Birding & Nature Center Sharing the secrets of science and nature in the New River watershed with West Virginians and their friends. NRBNC serves as an environmental education hub for Wolf Creek Park residents, businesses, and visitors from across and beyond West Virginia. With a trail system and Wetlands Boardwalk visitors benefit immediately from the Nature Center's outdoor classroom, programs and guided field trips, unavailable anywhere else in the region.
Canyon Rim Visitors Center A rugged, whitewater river flowing northward through deep canyons, the New River is among the oldest rivers on the continent. The park encompasses over 70,000 acres of land along the New River, is rich in cultural and natural history, and offers an abundance of scenic and recreational opportunities.
The Historic Fayette Theater is located in a renovated movie house built in 1937. It is one of the few Depression era movie houses still in use in southern WV. Visitors can view the original movie projectors which remained in use until the 1960’s. The Fayette County Historical Society began renovation in 1992. Adorning the walls inside the renovated theatre are many paintings and pieces of art that depict life and entertainment from the 1930’s era. The theater stages ten performances per year along with special nights by request.

Hawks Nest State Park, the name of this area comes from the numerous osprey (some call them “fish hawks”) that once nested on the cliffs. Today, many hawks, turkey vultures,, black vultures and the occasional bald and golden eagles are seen soaring above the canyon.
